Yamin li

“To live a life of two contrasting and conflicted cultures is as liberating as it is a struggle. It is both a journey of being an outsider to my surroundings and a speculative experience of my own life. The two cultures meet, blend, and collide in my work.”

Yamin grew up in Suzhou, China and came to America to finish school. She left a PhD program to pursue the arts and graduated from UT Austin in 2015. She has exhibited at galleries throughout Austin as well as Shanghai and Chengdu, China. She lives and works in Austin, TX.
