Waking dreams are a type of hallucination that occurs as a person is drifting off or coming out of sleep. In this threshold of consciousness, the dream realm bleeds into the physical making it difficult to discern between what is real and what is imagined. Using the visual languages of realism and abstraction I seek to create a space where our physical world and dreams coexist. My work is meant to force speculation of what we see, what we imagine, and whether these concepts are mutually exclusive.
